ELECTROLOGY & PCOS

According to the Mayo Clinic: "Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) causes an imbalance of sex hormones. Over years, PCOS may slowly result in excess hair growth."

Areas of hair growth associated with PCOS includes excessive thickening or darkening of one's facial hair (chin, neck, upper lip etc.) and body hair. This type of hair growth is also known as Hirsutism (Hur-Suh-Ti-Zm) and approximately 10% of all women (70% women with PCOS) experience Hirsutism.

Many people with unwanted hormonal-related hair growth are unsure how to solve this problem and often find their temporary solutions, like shaving, lead to unwanted side effects like razor burn and ingrowns while waxing/plucking/tweezing leads to ingrowns and stimulated follicles.

Electrolysis targets each unwanted follicle to permanently disable the ability to regrow and Electrolysis works for ALL hair colors and ALL skin tones.

While Electrolysis is a serious commitment of both time and finances, it's truly life-changing by allowing our clients to stop thinking about their hair growth. Please note that we cannot prevent your peach fuzz from turning thicker with time, which is why we recommend clients check their hair occasionally after completing treatments to see if they notice any changes happening. It's very typical for clients who have hormonal hair growth to be seen for "maintenance" appointments every so often if they see some hairs becoming a bit longer or thicker with time.
